BUDDHA, THE MARVELLOUS :- Vivekananda….. Buddhaism is historically the most important religion because it was the most tremendous movement the world ever saw, the most gigantic spiritual wave to burst upon human socity. There is no civilisation on which its effect has not been felt in some way or the other. QUTT AS A SNAKE YOUR WORN OUT SKIN :-The Bhikkhu who discards all human possions is compared to a snake that casts his skin. He who restrains his anger when it has arisen, as they by medicines restrain the poison of the snake spreading in the body, that Bhikkhu leaves this & the further shore, as a snake quits old worn out skin. IF THOU LIKE, RAIN, O SKY! :- A dialogue between the rich herdsman Dhaniya & Buddha, the one rejoicing in his worldly security & the other in his religious belief. ‘I have boiled my rice, I have milked my cows ’ – so said the herdsman Dhaniya, -- I am living together with my fellows near the banks of the Mahi river, my house is covered, the fire is kindled: therefore, if thou like, rain, O sky!’
