Baranagar Math:- Trailokyanath’s ultimatum, instead of inspiring fear, filled the heart of Kalikrishna with wonder, joy, & tremendous gratitude to the Almighty for this deliverance from his worldly home. Three days later he went to his father & serenely announced, “I have resolved to devote my life solely to seeking God-realization.” Somewhat taken aback, though this was not unexpected, Trailokyanath’s practical mind instantly raised these questions: “But how will you accomplish that? How can you earn a living?” At the Holy Mother’s Feet:- In October, 1891, after Kalikrishna had passed several months of his novitiate at Baranagar Math in the company of the Sannyasin disciples of the Master, he finally had an opportunity to meet Sarada Davi, the Holy Mother. She had an resolved to worship the Goddess Jagaddhatri1 in her parental home at Jayrambati, & the revered Sarat Maharaj (Swami Saradananda) planned to go there with other devotees, carrying with him from Calcutta numerous articles necessary for the festival. Quite unexpectedly, Sarat Maharaj one day said to Kalikrishna, “Will, boy, would you like to accompany us?” Overwhelmed with joy at this welcome proposal, Kalikrishna made hurried preparations for the trip.
