1.THE GREATNESS OF ARUNACHALA:-“You destroy the those who meditate upon You in the heart, O Arunachala!”_______ Aksharamanamalai by Sri Bhagavan. The sacred name ‘Arunachala’, constant remembrance & repeated chanting. The ego or the ‘I-thought’ of the person who thinks of this Name disappears completely. Such is the power of the Name. it is practically impossible to destroy the ego; but the very thought of Arunachala can erase the ego & grant Liberation. it is said that ‘Liberation is assured for those who take birth in ‘Kamalayam’ (Tiruvarur), for those who visit Chidambaram, for those who die in Kasi (Benares) & for those who those who merely think of Arunachala. ARUNACHALA & THE SAGE OF ARUNACHALA:-- The title of this chapter seems to suggest that Bhagavan & the Arunchala Hill are two separate entities. But if one were to study the life of Bhagavan, it would become clear that he never considered himself as being separate from the Hill. He considered the Hill as a manifestation of the human form, the from of Bhagavan Sri Raamana Maharshi to spread the Divine Message among the common people of the world. ARUNACHALESWARA TEMPLE:- The sacred temple of Arunachaleswara is one of the biggest temple in Tamil Nadu. Ti is a huge temple covering nearly twentyfive acres & it truly marvelous in its construction. The temple walls are so high that they seem to be touching the say. BHAGAVAN SRI RAMANA MAHARSHI:- In ancient times, Siva Himself was here in His Divine form. Later He took the form of Five which eventually turned into the Arunachala Hill. It is not possible for us to see the Divine form of Siva now in this modern age. It is said that Siva resides even now in one of the five peaks of the Hill as Arunagiri Yogi; agin in a form that is invisible to the physical eye. As if to provide us all with an opportunity to see the Lord in human form, Arunachala drew the young Venkatraman from Madurai & made him stay at Arunachala. He stayed there as immovable as the Hill Itself, constantly showering his Grace upon innumerable devotees. It was as though Tiruvannamalai, already a sacred spot, had become further sanctified by the presence of Sri Bhagavana. It was through Sri Ramana Maharshi that the fame of Tiruvannmalai & Lord Arunachala spread far beyond the boundaries of India remotest corners of the world. WHO IS RAMANA :- Once, during a conversation with devotees, Bhagavan recounted an interesting incident involving Amrithanatha Yatindra. This is the story as narrated to by Bhagavan.
