We come across many Gita-s in our spiritual literature. The most popular one is Srimad Bhagavad Gita which is attributed to Bhagavan Sri Krishna & presented to us by Bhagavan Veda Vyasa. Th-ere, the teacher is God-head on one sied while the student is utterly confused. Astavakra Gita is unlike this. Here, both the teacher Astavakra & the student Janaka are alrea-dy enlightened & they are living this knowledge. However, at some moment in the life of Janaka,t-here seems to be an urgency to know the Absolute & it is only sage Astavakra who could he-lp him come out of his own mental block.
